Enjoying the Miracle of Childbirth

Childbirth is a normal and healthy event. Which woman's body is crafted to do it naturally. Childbirth, as every other event of life, needs preparation. For example, wedding, or, if one enrolls in a marathon, she would need to exercise to prepare her body for a strenuous physical activity? She also needs to commit to accomplish this task. For that she needs to set her mind on accomplishing this task. Regardless, she is ready to embrace what it takes to get to finish line.

Childbirth, also needs physical preparation and mind has to be set on trusting body. Woman's body is designed to become pregnant, carry, develop healthy baby and give birth. Woman's body does not need any assistant from outside word. Body knows what needs to be done for this baby to grow perfectly. Also it is able to birth the baby.

Finding the right place to birth the baby, depends on the preference of parents, especially expecting mom. Some would rather to be at a hospital and some prefer home. Some may feel more relaxed and safe in a hospital setting. Others, feel safer at home. Birth can be done in any setting, when it is a normal pregnancy. In case of twins or special conditions of pregnancy hospital setting is used.

"The Women's inner wisdom guides them through birth. Women's confidence and ability to give birth is either enhanced or diminished by the care provider and place of birth. Women have a right to give birth free from routine medical interventions. Birth can safely take place in hospital and homes."

"The history of man for nine months preceding his birth would, probably, be far more interesting, and contain events of greater moment, than all the threescore and ten years that follow it."
Samuel Taylor Coleridge, 1840

"Childbirth is a profound rite of passage, not a medical event (even when medical care is part of the birth). Through soul-searching and listening more deeply to the women I was working with, I finally understood that women have to prepare for birth in their heart and soul, not their head. And that giving birth is something a woman does in her body, not in her head."
